What to Do If You or a Loved One Is Injured While Riding an Escalator

It is the responsibility of property owners and managers to ensure that those they invite into their facilities are safe from accidents. In addition, manufacturers can be held accountable if a product defect leads to an injury or death. Therefore, if you or someone you love is injured while riding an escalator and your injury was the result of improper maintenance, poor design, a lack of safety warnings, incorrect installation or a defective part, you may be able to hold those at fault accountable through a premises liability or product liability lawsuit.

Following an escalator accident, even if you are unsure if you want to file a lawsuit, you should speak to an experienced personal injury attorney. You need to know your legal rights, have your questions answered and learn what the best options are for you and your family moving forward.
